    Summary

    This is a student internship opportunity under the Pathways Program. The major objective of the Pathways Program is to employ students, giving them a chance to work in a Federal agency and resume or continue their education without interruption caused by financial pressure. Students appointed may work part-time while school is in session and full-time (depending upon the needs of the agency) when students are on a vacation period or whenever the school is officially closed.

    Responsibilities

    This position is located with the Bureau of Reclamation, Lower Colorado Region, Engineering Services Office, Boulder City, NV. Work will be performed in and/or around Boulder City, NV.

    Travel and relocation expenses will not be paid by the Department of the Interior. Any travel, transportation and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty at the location designated will be the responsibility of the selected employee.

    Duties of the position are as follows:

    • Assists in the performance of engineering studies and analyses by analyzing and presenting data in accordance with established methods.
    • Gathers and develops data related to the organizations mission and processes data according to established methods and designated formulas using algebra, geometry and arithmetic.
    • Assists in the preparation of technical data, studies and evaluations in support of mission requirements, including building basic data analyses, visualization and story maps.
    • Uses commercial drafting, database, spreadsheet, scheduling, illustration, and word processing software in performing basic data processing.

    Occasional travel - Travel maybe required as required by the agency in order to attend training and/or meetings.
