    General Information

    Salary: $41,090 (Step 01) to $53,413 (Step 10); NOTE: First time hires to the Federal Government are typically hired at the Step 01.

    Responsibilities

    The USGS California Science Center, located in Sacramento, CA,  is seeking a student working towards a degree in Information Technology to gain practical experience in IT.

    Duties include:

    --Processing hardware and software functions; network and operating system specifications.

    --Installing of new and revised off-the-shelf software packages.

    --Configuring microcomputers to interface with existing LAN and mainframe computers.

    --Modifying software scripts.

    --Assisting staff using various computer equipment and software.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Average travel is 2 nights per month.
