Operations and Finance Intern – London

 

Job Description:

Typical intern work will include:

-        Support traders and risk teams through: P&L/risk/margin reporting and analysis, managing investment risk data, acting as point of contact with prime brokers

-        Perform daily reconciliations for multi strategy investment funds.  Products include equity, fixed income, OTC, listed derivatives and FX

-        Assist with daily cash management and treasury activities and also the operational setup of funds and new product types

-        Longer term project work focused on automation, enhanced reporting, controls, enterprise data management.

-        Ideal candidate would have an interest in financial markets and learning to code

 

Qualifications:

 

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, mature and intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavours.  The successful candidate will be a recent graduate with at a relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent from a quantitative course at a leading university or business school.

 

In addition, the successful candidate should demonstrate:

-        Strong Excel skills

-        Python or another language desired but not essential

-        Ability to synthesize data and respond to ad hoc inquiries

-        Strong communication skills, required to work closely with regional teams, vendors and clients.

-        Self-motivated and detail-orientated individual who can prioritise efficiently

-        Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

-        Excellent team-work skills
