OIG provides oversight through auditing, inspections, and investigations of GSA's extensive procurement, real property, and related programs and operations, which primarily support other federal agencies.     Responsibilities

    This position is located in the Office of Inspections. The Office of Inspections (JE) is responsible for independently and objectively analyzing and evaluating GSA's programs and operations through management and programmatic inspections and evaluations that are intended to provide insight into issues of concern to GSA, Congress, and the American public. In addition, the office formulates, directs and coordinates the quality assurance function of the OIG and undertakes special projects and analyses as required by the Inspector General.

    As a Recent Graduate, the Auditor has the opportunity to learn and grow in the position.  At the full performance level, the Auditor will perform the following responsibilities:

    • Participates in the development of JE goals and objectives.
    • Participates in the establishment, review and/or revision of internal JE operating policies and procedures to eliminate issues/concerns or barriers to mission accomplishment, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or requirements.
    • Provides technical advice to others on JE policies, procedures, and practices, including those practices associated with conducting inspections, evaluations, and quality assurance reviews.
    • Works with other analysts, auditors, attorneys, investigators, and various specialists in efforts of conducting concurrent complex assignments.
    • Conducts a variety of studies concerning the needs of management and makes comparative results on processes, policies and procedures.
    • Prepares/provides written reports as a direct result of research based on directives, laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
