    Summary

    This developmental position, located in Employee Education Corporate Function at the Southeast Louisiana Health Care System (SLVHCS) Medical center, New Orleans, Louisiana, composes a career ladder structure to the full performance level of Education Program Specialist, GS-1720-11. The primary purpose of this position is to function as the Program Coordinator of the National Organization for Leadership and Analytics University (NOLA U) and other national, regional and local training.

    Responsibilities

    The major duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Manages and delivers educational programs, designs curriculum, and assesses training needs and effectiveness for a wide variety of courses presented to employees for their performance effectiveness and career.
    • Plans, publicizes, administers, and evaluates the following training programs in consultation with facility leadership and subject matter experts: leadership development programs, and other training and education programs when identified need exists.
    • Serves as the facility's program coordinator for other national, regional, and local training and development initiatives targeted towards improved competencies for employees.
    • Develops, obtains, and adapts instructional material to be used in coaching and training.
    • Organizes and modifies course material when instructional problems are encountered which require remediation.
    • Uses a range of teaching methods and tools, depending on the students' learning requirements.

    Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM. Additional hours as mission needs dictate
