    Summary

    This position is part of the R1-Sheldon-Hart Mountain NWR Complex. As a Forestry Aid (Fire) you will be responsible for performing wildland fire fighting work, and in operations directly related to wildland fire suppression.

    Applicants are ineligible for this position if ANY time they have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence, unless such conviction was expunged, set aside or the applicant receives a pardon.

    Responsibilities

    As a Forestry Aid (Fire), you will perform wildland fire fighting work in operations directly related to wildland fire suppression and control activities including suppression, preparedness, prevention, monitoring, hazardous fuels reduction, and prescribed burning. Typical duties include: personally engaging in fighting range, forest, or other wildland fires; participating in fire and safety training; and maintaining equipment as needed. When not involved in fire operations, you will perform project work for the refuge.
