    Summary

    This position is located within United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), National Soil Erosion Research Laboratory, in West Lafayette, IN.

    This is a time-limited, excepted service position expected to last more than 1 year. The position's end date is based on when the intern obtains his/her degree (diploma, certificate, etc.), but cannot exceed 8 years in total, when the student intern remains eligible for the program.

    • Prepares labels for specimens; maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner.
    • Performs standardized routines in support of research projects.
    • Prepares routine media, and solutions, by weighing and measuring constituents according to established methods.
    • Uses common laboratory equipment and apparatus such as autoclaves, sterilizers, centrifuges and homogenizers.
