    Internship opportunities are available in the following Divisions/Offices: Division of Administration, Division of Finance, Division of Depositor & Consumer Protection, Division of Insurance and Research, Legal Division, and Office of Legislative Affairs.

    The duties of the intern are designated according to the division/office to which the intern is assigned.

    Division of Administration (DOA):interns may be assigned to one of the following areas: Acquisition Services Branch, Management Services Branch, Office of the Director or Human Resources Branch and will perform various clerical tasks which involve providing support on division wide work products relating to, but not limited to, staffing; position management; training; records management; space and equipment management; web work and information security.  The incumbent will assist in preparing reports, memoranda, and emails that may include matters of a sensitive nature.  Other tasks may include compiling data; data entry into databases and spreadsheets; performing research on various topics/issues; responding to staff requests.  (Located in Arlington, VA)

    Division of Depositor & Consumer Protection (DCP): Interns assigned will perform clerical duties such as filing, typing and copying. Other duties assigned included are: data entry, generating routine reports, handling route requests and dissemination of information to the appropriate staff members in the office. (Located in Washington, DC)

    Division of Insurance & Research (DIR): Interns should have familiarity with Microsoft applications to prepare recurring management and statistical reports and assist with presentation materials using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Interns will perform administrative tasks such as research, filing, data entry, proofreading, scanning documents, spreadsheet input, answering telephones, sorting mail and running errands. (Located in Washington D.C. and Arlington, VA)

    Division of Resolutions and Receivership (DRR): Interns will be assigned to the Business Program Management – interns will provide support for IT security initiatives and application development projects assisting with project administration tasks, access certifications; business analysis, contractor management; SharePoint administration tasks, technical support and data entry. Assist staff with communication tasks by monitoring and distributing service requests, filing, documenting meetings, creating and editing documents, assist with spreadsheets, presentations, routine reports and reconciliations.  (Located in Arlington, VA)

    Legal Division: An intern in Enforcement is expected to handle daily intake of cases and correspondence; track both case paperwork and assignments using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel; prepare case materials for assignment and distribution up through the supervisory chain; data entry including updating the status of matters in ALIS; photocopy case materials upon completion; and create case files and ensure the appropriate filing of records and cards reflecting certificates of service (Located in Arlington, VA).

    Office of Legislative Affairs (OLA): Interns will go to Capitol Hill to cover congressional hearings, assisting our legislative staff with preparing senior FDIC officials for congressional testimony, and researching legislation and issues related to financial industry, consumer protection and other related topics.  Duties also include assisting with copying/filing and phone answering.  Superior writing skills are essential (Located in Washington, DC)
