    The incumbent is a Student Trainee (Human Resources Assistant) (OA) in Office of Shared Services, Employment Services Division. This is a developmental position designed to promote the knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform at the journeyman level as a Human Resources Assistant (OA).

    As an ESD Student Connections NTE Intern, your major duties may include:

    • Prepare job opportunity announcements.  
    • Finalize selection(s) and prepares all associated paperwork in final form.
    • Prepare and close out Merit Promotion/Delegated Examining (DE) cases. Gather background information to assist the HR Specialist in posting positions. Follow up with management officials to obtain missing or to clarify unclear information. Ensure integrity of files, rating criteria, and related information in the staff acquisition case files.
    • Input data into the database of position information (e.g. HR Connect, PAWS) to ensure integrity of system data.
    • Provide technical advice and assistance to employees and supervisors regarding regulations, procedures, and policies governing routine technical aspects of classification actions.
