    Responsibilities

    Temporary Summer Student Internship positions are available, for administrative and technical support, in various FAA organizations in Anchorage Alaska.

    What does a Student Volunteer do? A Student Volunteer has the opportunity to supplement his/her education by gaining experience in public service related to the Federal Aviation Administration with its strategic goal of maintaining the National Airspace System.

    Some examples of duties that will be performed by selectees.

    • Shadowing and assisting technical and professional staff
    • Using automated systems to enter and update data
    • Creating and editing documents, briefings, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Assisting with inventory and supply matters
    • Assisting with file and records management matters
    • Receiving visitors and callers, assisting with routine matters and referring to appropriate staff
    • Researching, interpreting, and applying procedures and regulations
    • Researching, compiling, and summarizing information and data
    • Preparing mail shipments and distribute mail received
    • Preparing minutes of meetings
    • Operating equipment and utilizing systems to make observations, take notes, and download information to media (DVR, CDs, etc.)
    • Updating databases
