    This position is located in the Office of Government Relations Strategic Engagement, Department of the Chief Executive Officer, in Washington, DC.

    • Lead writer for the federal agency that oversees AmeriCorps and Senior Corps, responsible for compelling storytelling that inspires Americans to serve.
    • Manages writing projects from initial concept to delivery. Develops and maintains schedule. Collaborates with stakeholders on content. Independently researches topics. Leads clearance process. Juggles multiple duties, sets priorities and meets deadlines.
    • Ideates, writes, edits and proofreads copy for a full spectrum of communications including speeches, emails, official correspondence, digital advertisements, brochures, and web content.
    • Writes speeches and talking points for the CEO and agency leadership for events big and small, anchored in established message framework.
    • Composes messages to staff, partners, and external audiences that provide timely, relevant information while building connections.
    • Ensures adherence to AP Style and maintains the agency style guide.
    • Independently drafts inspiring copy for owned, earned and paid digital channels. Reviews data to test effectiveness and adjusts as necessary.
    • Actively seeks out heartwarming stories that demonstrate the remarkable nature of our mission using research skills and relationship building.
    • Relentlessly pursues excellence on every project. Provides and welcomes constructive feedback in order to develop the best possible product.
    • Eagerly mentors others, helping them to grow as communicators.
    • Other duties as assigned.
