    As a Student Trainee (Engineering & Architecture), you will work under the supervision of a higher graded employee, performing a variety of limited routine tasks. This is an Excepted Service, Indefinite appointment. Current class schedule and transcripts are required.

    Responsibilities

    • Pathways Internship positions provide for development and training. Assignments become more responsible as incumbent increases knowledge and skills through work experience and academic training. At the full-performance level, you will be expected to:
    • Apply basic engineering principles in the evaluation, assessment, and design development of civil works water resources projects.
    • Perform basic engineering computations and prepare written documentation of design details and assumptions.
    • Use engineering software to compute material quantities.
    • Prepare original and modified Computer Aided Design drawings using standardized techniques, correct scale, and attributes.
    • Perform drafting work on design drawings for reports or construction, and on topographic or cadastral survey maps.
    • Perform computations relative to the foregoing, and for estimates.
    • Research for and edit technical material.
    • Compile data for management actions, including networks and input data for automatic data processing operations.

    Travel Required

    25% or less - You may be expected to travel up to 25% for this position.
