    Responsibilities

    This position is assigned to the Bureau of Budget and Planning, Office of Performing and Planning (BP/OPP),  U.S. Department of State. The Division participates in strategic and performance planning processes with all Department Bureaus and Offices. The Division implements projects related to the strategic and performance planning processes, and conducts broad research, analysis, and coordination activities strategic and performance planning issues with various State Department offices and bureaus.

    As a Student Trainee (Program Analysis), GS-7, you will:

    • Compile facts and findings for use by managers and review policy in assigned areas of responsibility.
    • Draft comments and impact statements on issuances for consideration by management.
    • Support higher graded analysts in conducting assigned segments or phases of projects involving development, implementation, or monitoring of sophisticated management information systems.
    • Advocate Bureau views and policy positions, take notes of opposing points of view, and develop oral and written reports.

    This Year-Round position requires at least 32 hours per week between the hours of 8:15am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday.
