    This position provides a variety of administrative support services in such areas as purchasing, budget, space management, security, internal controls, records, reproduction services, forms management, fleet management, contracting support, admin analysis, and communication services.

    Responsibilities

    If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing a variety of administrative support, contracting, and office support services. If selected, you will receive formal and/or on-the-job training as needed. Typical work assignments will include:

    • Analysis of administrative and support services to improve procedures.
    • Participating in automation development for work processes.
    • Providing support and formal advertising of and negotiating bids for supplies, equipment or services for the office.
    • Assists with facility management and security, working with others to implement and enforce security plans and oversee maintenance requirements.
    • Providing assistance with administrative projects and issues, such as teleconferences, end of year and invoice tracking, and inventory management.
    • Applying computer and automated systems knowledge to problem analysis and troubleshooting.
    • Using software to produce reports, presentations, briefing materials, contracts, statements of work, bidders lists, market comparisons, and other data products.
    • Assisting with data retrieval and storage.
    • Assisting with property inventory and fleet management, projecting needs and making recommendations.
    Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

    This is an excepted service appointment under the Pathways Recent Graduates Program. This appointment is a one year career development program. At the successful completion of the program requirements, you may be eligible for non-competitive conversion at agency discretion to a federal career or career-conditional appointment as an Admin Services Specialist, GS-0301-07/09.
