    Summary

    This position is located at the Mashpee Service Unit Clinic, Mashpee, MA within the Nashville Area of the Indian Health Service. The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive preventative and therapeutic nursing care, including counseling and teaching in a health care setting.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides direct nursing care for patients, including measures designed to prevent complications and minimize disabilities.
    • Assists physician with diagnostic, therapeutic and minor surgical procedures and administers oral and parental medications.
    • Utilizes the nursing processes to obtain a preliminary health history, makes a physical assessment recognizing the range of “normal’ and the manifestations of common abnormalities, provides the necessary nursing care, or makes appropriate referrals to other health care team members.
    • Documents in the patient’s health record observations, assessments, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures provided, and referrals for follow-up care.
