- Uses office automation software and equipment to type, edit, and format letters, reports, technical documents, charts, graphs and/or forms. Establishes and maintains a variety of office files. Researches files, reference materials, databases and the internet for information needed by office personnel.
- Produces error-free documents, ensuring correct punctuation, spelling, capitalization, and grammar.
- Ensures that final documents are formatted and arranged in conformance with established correspondence, publication, and office procedures.
- Receives incoming telephone calls. Answers inquires related to general policy, programs, and activities of the office.
- Sends, receives, and distributes email and other documents related to office operations.
- Prepares travel authorizations, vouchers, and other standard office forms.
The selectee is not eligible for promotion without competition.
This is a not-to-exceed (NTE) appointment and at the expiration of this appointment, or whenever services are no longer needed, the selectee will be terminated from Federal service.

Physical Demands: Work is primarily sedentary. Some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items is required.
Work Environment: Work is performed in an office setting.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

Eligible and qualified applicants who receive a score that ranges 70 to 100 will be placed in one of three categories: Best Qualified, Highly Qualified, or Qualified. Within these categories, applicants eligible for veteran’s preference will receive selection priority over non-veterans. In addition, interviews may be conducted for this position. The job related questions align with the following knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the duties of this position.
KSA 1: Skill in operating a personal computer, and related equipment, such as printers, copiers, and fax machines.
KSA 2: Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and required formats to type, proofread, and correct errors in documents consistent with the style and content.
KSA 3: Knowledge of software package functions and features to review and format letters or other documents, enter, revise, sort, correct, retrieve, and extract data/information from automated systems for reports.
