    Summary

    The Pathways Program is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school and while getting paid for the work performed. Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for conversion to a position in the civil service. This position starts at a salary of $17.27 Per Hour (GS-4, Step 1) to $22.44 Per Hour (GS-4, Step 10).

    Responsibilities

    Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, San Francisco Field Office, in San Francisco, CA.

    In this student trainee position, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security administrative professionals. Typical work assignments include:

    • Compiling statistical data,
    • Production of internal management reports,
    • Maintaining a database to store management information that is used in making organization decisions and included in reports to higher management, and
    • Coordinating the distribution of new or revised administrative policies, regulations and procedures to management that affect the administrative internal control and functions of the unit.
