- Provides a variety of office support functions including, but not limited to, managing mail, answering phones/taking messages, filing, copying, scanning, scheduling meetings, updating calendars, researching technical information, and assisting with travel arrangements and purchasing.
- Assists in entering and retrieving data for program databases. Follows guidance to input data, review information for errors, and correct information as appropriate.
- Assists and completes project initiation and completion forms, tracks action items, reviews reports for clarity and understanding, and researches technical information.
- Prepares draft and final correspondence, reports, memorandums, presentations, spreadsheets and other documents from rough drafts, notes, and electronically transmitted materials using various Microsoft software products.
Occasional travel – Occasional travel may be required.
The applicant must be a current Bureau of Reclamation employee serving under in a Pathways Intern position, who has been accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) in a qualifying educational institution in order to be eligible to be considerate for this position opportunity.
The selected student will be appointed at the GS-04($14.30 per hour) Federal pay grade level, which is determined by meeting the qualification requirements.

This is a career development opportunity in the excepted service under the Bureau of Reclamation Pathways Internship Program. It is designed to provide students currently enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work and get paid while exploring Federal careers. The candidate selected to fill the position will be required to complete a Participant Agreement the spells out the requirements of the program, including an anticipated date for completing educational requirements related to the full performance grade level of the position.

Travel and relocation expenses will not be paid by the Department of the Interior. Any travel, transportation and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty at the location designated will be the responsibility of the selected employee.
Reclamation has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisory approval.
The entire period served as an Intern-indefinite is creditable toward completion of the required probationary period for initial appointment to a position in the competitive service. Prior Federal civilian service is credited toward the completion of the required probationary period in the same manner as prescribed in 5 CFR 315.802.
